Change your swimwear to suit your shape

Well girls, it's that dreaded time of the year again, and no I don't mean Valentines!

It's when the shops start revealing their swimwear for this year, with adverts full of slinky sunkissed models who obviously do not live on this fair isle.

If like me, you cringe at the sight of the skimpy bikini's, and then sneer at the mumsie tankini's, I have a perfect middle of the road solution for you.

As already mentioned, the Swinging Sixties are back with a bang, but so is the beautiful swimwear from that era. Swimwear that celebrates curves, boosts busts and disguises derrieres.

As you can see from the picture, 60's swimwear was all about showing the shape of the women, without showing off all the skin. Highwaisted shorts, halter necks, and impressive chests are the main ideas from this era.

For the past few years, there has been a rise in sales of more structured swimsuits but not the type that you might have had as a child (all in one lycra, ususally neon!)

or the proper sports suimsuit (highly unflattering!!!!!!)

But a new breed of pretty, girly and flattering suimsuits that can "conceal and reveal" as we choose.

Here are a few samples from Littlewoods to whet your appetite.

As different shapes,we all wish to "conceal and reveal" various parts, here are some ideas for you:

Quote of the day:
"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."
— Audrey Hepburn
